Networking Services
Part of defending your network is understanding your operating system
requirements and the network architecture it requires, while defending
your organization from the flaws the operating system contains.
With the new Windows 2000/XP and .Net operating systems, it will
no longer be like it was in NT4. Network administrators will no longer be
able to create domains on the fly, without considering the overall
design of their networks and the impact it will have on the entire
enterprise. Windows 2000 is so large that an administrator will no longer
be able to haphazardly install domain components without understanding the
impact the change will have on the network as a whole.
Organizations must plan their rollouts and conversions well in advance
of implementation. Therefore the administrators must know a great deal
more about the network before this conversion begins. Items such as DNS,
DHCP, Active Directory, Schema management, Group Policy Objects, site
creation, and global catalog server placement must be taken into
consideration.
Digital Defenders can aid in this massive job by designing a network
that is optimal for the size and structure of the organization.
